About this event

In conjunction with its current Roadmap to Equality Series, the AALAC invites you to an evening with Jelani Cobb, Ph.D. at the College of San Mateo.

Dr. Cobb is a Peabody Award-winning journalist and sought-after author, educator, and writer. He is currently a Professor of Journalism at Columbia University. Since 2015, he has been a staff writer at The New Yorker and a frequent contributor on MSNBC, NPR, CNN and PBS Frontline. Dr. Cobb received his undergraduate degree at Howard University in Washington, DC, and his Ph.D. in American history at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He was a guest of AALAC in 2009, and looks forward to returning to San Mateo. Dr. Cobb will speak on the complex dynamics of race and justice in America today and promote his current book.
