Join Bobsa in Celebrating Juneteenth 2025
As we approach Juneteenth this year, Bobsa is proud to stand with all our partner organizations in honoring this important day. Celebrated annually on June 19th, Juneteenth—also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day—remembers the historic moment when, on June 19, 1865, Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, bringing news that enslaved individuals were officially free, marking the end of slavery in the United States.
Bobsa encourages our community to commemorate Juneteenth through vibrant events such as parades, picnics, festivals, educational workshops, and discussions that highlight the history and ongoing significance of this day. It’s a powerful opportunity for reflection, education, and unity—celebrating the resilience, achievements, and contributions of Black Americans, while acknowledging the struggles faced along the way.
