wanzaa is a cultural holiday that was created in the United States in 1966 by Dr.Maulana Karenga, an African-American activist and scholar. It was established to celebrate African heritage, culture, and community. Kwanzaa takes place from December 26th to January 1st each year, with each day dedicated to one of the seven principles known as the Nguzo Saba.
